Specimen Requirements

Specimen must arrive within 1 hour of collection.

 

Specimen Type: Urine, random

Container/Tube: Clean container

Specimen Volume: 5 mL

 

Collection Instructions:

1. Have patient void into a clean container with no additive.

2. Immediately draw 5 mL of urine into a syringe.

3. Expel any air and cap with a Luer-Lok.

4. Place specimen in ice and send immediately to the lab.
