TitrationNote: This test may only be ordered in conjunction with #9811 Antibody Screen, Blood. This test will be performed if #9811 Antibody Screen, Blood is positive and specific antibody(ies) identified.
Specimen Requirements
Hospital Patient:Specimen Type: Whole blood
Container/Tube: Pink top (EDTA)-Separator gel tube is not acceptable.
Specimen Volume: Full tube
Specimen Minimum Volume: 10 mL (pediatric: 4 mL/neonate: 2 EDTA MICROTAINERS)
Additional Information:
1. Include report of diagnosis and history of transfusions, pregnancy, and drug therapy.
2. Specimen must be labeled with barcode label or addressograph imprint including patient’s name, hospital registration number, and date of birth.
3. Specimen must have 2 signatures (phlebotomist and witness). Initials are not acceptable.
Non Hospital Patient:
Specimen Type: Whole blood
Container/Tube: Pink top (EDTA)-Separator gel tube is not acceptable.
Specimen Volume: Full tube
Specimen Minimum Volume: 10 mL (pediatric: 4 mL/neonate: 2 EDTA MICROTAINERS)
Additional Information:
1. Include report of diagnosis and history of transfusions, pregnancy, and drug therapy.
2. Label tube with patient’s name, date of birth, and Social Security number.
3. Specimen submitted for antibody screen only must be signed by person drawing the specimen. Initials are not acceptable.
4. Specimen submitted for type and screen must have 2 signatures (phlebotomist and witness). Initials are not acceptable. Specimens without 2 signatures may be tested but will not be used for crossmatch purposes.

Laboratory Processing Instructions:
Test performed in BJH Blood Bank. Centrifuge upon receipt. After testing is performed, store specimen refrigerated at 2° C to 8° C.
