Specimen Type: Vaginal
Container/Tube: Slide
Specimen Volume: Entire specimen
Collection Instructions:

1. Label frosted end of slide in pencil with patient’s first and last name, date of birth, and date of collection.

2. Obtain scraping of lateral vaginal wall.

3. Spread cellular material evenly on glass slide.

4. Fix slide immediately with spray fixative. Allow slide to dry.

5. Place slide in a slide mailer. Do not close mailer until slide has dried completely.
