Specimen Requirements
Call Barnes-Jewish Hospital HLA Laboratory at 314-362-5323 to schedule test.
Specimen must arrive within 12 hours of collection.
Donor and recipient specimens are required.
Donor
Submit only 1 of the following specimens:
Specimen Type: Whole blood
Container/Tube: 10-mL Yellow top (ACD Solution A)
Specimen Volume: ADULT- 5 Full tubes CHILDREN - 2 Full tubes INFANT - 1 Full tube
Additional Information:
1. Do not refrigerate.
2. Label specimen appropriately (donor).
Specimen Type: Lymph node
Container/Tube: Specimen container
Specimen Volume: 1 large inguinal lymph node
Additional Information:
1. This specimen type is appropriate for deceased donors only.
2. Label specimen appropriately (donor).
Recipient
Specimen Type: Serum
Container/Tube: 10 mL Red/Gray top (SST)
Specimen Volume: Full tube
Additional Information:
1. Do not refrigerate.
2. Label specimen appropriately (recipient).
