Test Code LAB294 Complete Blood Count (CBC) without Differential, Blood
Performing Laboratory
Barnes-Jewish Hospital Laboratory
Methodology
Sysmex XN (Electrical Impedance)
Includes WBC, RBC, hemoglobin, hematocrit, RBC indices, RDW-CV, RDW-SD, platelet, MPV, nRBC, and nRBC Absolute.
If an abnormal value or flag is triggered on the initial patient specimen, a manual smear will always be reviewed. Any subsequent specimen within 72 hours will be verified by the “Consistent Rule” unless there is a change in the values and flags in which case a new smear review will be conducted.
