Mint (Light) green-top (lithium heparin) Vacutainer®

Acceptable: Green-top (Lithium Heparin) microtainer®, Gold/Red SST Vacutainer®, Plain, red-top Vacutainer®, or DARK green-top (sodium heparin) Vacutainer®.

Collection Volume:

3.0 mL (minimum 0.6 mL) for Vacutainer®.
If collected in microtainer®, container MUST be full.
Patient Preparation: None
Sample Rejection: Mislabeled or unlabeled specimens.
Special Instructions: Send to lab promptly

Lab Processing instructions: Centrifuge specimen to separate, aliquot sample into a plastic conical tube and freeze within 1 hour of collection. Label aliquot with specimen type (plasma or serum).
