Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Blood

 Light green-top (Lithium heparin) Vacutainer
Acceptable: Plain, red-top Vacutainer or Lavender-top (EDTA) Vacutainer

Collection Volume: 2.0 mL (minimum 1.0 mL)
Patient Preparation: None
Sample Rejection: Mislabeled or unlabeled specimens.
Special Instructions: Trough Specimen: Collect immediately before next scheduled dose or no earlier than 1 hour prior to dose. (Trough level for first dose should be collected just prior to next dose).

Peak Specimen: Collect 30-60 minutes after dose.

Send to lab promptly.
